Cookie Policy
Last updated: 3 October 2026
Introduction
This Cookie Policy is adopted by the website’s administrator, Konstantinos Trokanas (the “Administrator”), to inform visitors1 about the use of cookies and any personal data that may be collected through them when they visit and browse the website.
This Policy explains what cookies are, which categories of cookies the website uses, what they are used for, and how visitors can manage their choices.
The Administrator respects the privacy of the website’s visitors and is committed to protecting their personal data in accordance with applicable national and EU law, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679, Greek Law 4624/2019 and Greek Law 3471/2006, as in force.
This Policy is reviewed from time to time to reflect developments in law and case law, the guidelines of the competent supervisory authorities, and any changes to how the website works.
What cookies are and how they work
Cookies are small text files stored on the visitor’s device, such as their computer, mobile phone or tablet, while they browse a website. Through cookies, a website can recognise the visitor’s device and retrieve certain information on later visits.
Cookies help, among other things, with the smooth and secure running of the website, a better browsing experience, and collecting information about how the website is used.
How cookies are used
The website uses cookies to make sure it works properly and to offer the best possible browsing experience. If the visitor consents, the website may also use measurement tools to analyse traffic and improve its content and features.
Categories of cookies
The website uses the following categories of cookies. The optional categories are the same ones shown in the website’s cookie notice, where the visitor chooses which to turn on.
(a) Strictly necessary cookies
Strictly necessary cookies are needed for the website to work correctly and securely and to provide services the visitor has asked for. Without them, some basic features of the website cannot be provided. They must always be on, and the user’s consent is not required for them. The website uses:
- Sign-in (authjs.*): keep the user signed in as they move between pages, and include a short-lived security token confirming that a sign-in form was submitted from the website.
- Language (NEXT_LOCALE): remembers the language (Greek or English) the visitor chose, so every page opens in it.
- Cookie choice (zoaki-cookie-consent): records the visitor’s answer to the cookie notice for 182 days, so they are not asked again on every page.
(b) Performance cookies
Performance cookies collect information about how visitors use the website and are aimed only at improving how it works and the browsing experience. For this the website uses Vercel Speed Insights, which measures how fast pages load, collecting only aggregated anonymous information without identifying the visitor. It is turned on only with the visitor’s consent (the “Performance” option).
(c) Analytics cookies
Analytics cookies collect anonymous statistical information solely to improve the website, without identifying the visitor and without being combined with personal data collected. For this the website uses Vercel Web Analytics, which records which pages visitors view. It is turned on only with the visitor’s consent (the “Analytics” option).
These two tools do not store cookies on the visitor’s device, but they work with similar technology and are therefore subject to the same rules: if the visitor does not accept them, their scripts are never sent to the visitor’s browser.
(d) Third-party cookies
Some features of the website are provided by third parties, who may set or read their own cookies. These cookies are placed by service providers outside the Administrator’s control. Visitors can refer to those providers’ policies for more information.
- Stripe: on payment and identity-verification pages, the payment provider Stripe uses cookies to prevent fraud and keep transactions secure. They are necessary to complete the payment or verification the visitor asked for. Stripe’s cookie policy.
- Google: for visitors who are not signed in, the website loads Google’s sign-in service, which suggests signing in with the Google account the browser already uses. Google may read its own cookies for this. Google’s cookie policy.
The website does not use cookies for advertising.
Managing cookies
Apart from strictly necessary cookies, which are used without consent only to the extent technically needed to carry out the connection or provide a service the visitor asked for, all optional cookies are set only after the visitor’s prior, explicit and freely given consent, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and the applicable national and EU framework on privacy in electronic communications.
Visitors can give, refuse, withdraw or change their consent at any time through the website’s cookie preferences. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it.
Accepting optional cookies is not a condition for accessing the website. On their first visit, visitors can:
- accept all cookies,
- reject all optional cookies, or
- choose the categories of cookies they want to turn on.
Visitors can withdraw or change their choices at any time through the website’s cookie preferences here:

Checking, deleting and removing cookies is as easy as accepting them. Visitors can also delete cookies through their browser settings. Turning off some cookies may affect the availability or proper working of some of the website’s features.
The Zoaki mobile app does not use cookies; it stores sign-in details securely on the device.
